Gaui Hurricane 550 Sweet Deal!
The Gaui Hurricane 550 is a great all around machine. It is the lightest weight medium-sized EP helicopter in its class. It has excellent power to weight ratio giving it superb flight time and performance on economical battery packs. Its an easy machine to maintain and the frame set and many components are made from a really tough mix of DuPont plastic and fiberglass composite materials. For cyclic and collective control, our deal pairs it up with 3 Hyperion Atlas DS 20 FMD programmable digital servos that offer the best performance/value we have seen in the servo market. They have excellent centering, use standard F type servo wheels and are really power system friendly. For great tail rotor control, we add in the Hitec Hg-5000 Gyro with 5083 Digital Servo. Dont be fooled by the size of this duo, they give rock-solid performance on this bird and really keep the weight down. In order to mount the smaller sized 5083 servo we throw in the G-204710 Hurricane 550 CNC tail servo mount.
When it comes to flight packs, we add in the absolute top-of-the-line in batteries: Flightpower. We selected 2 the EVOLITE 3S 2500 packs to provide excellent flight times and performance. Flightpowers reputation, customer support and warranty is second to none. The 2 3S EVOLITE 2500 packs are a perfect power match for this combo and their low weight really seals the deal as the best power system to marry this bird to.
It didn't make the photo shoot but we also throw in the Flightpower EVORX-1345 2S receiver pack to power the radio system. It's small, light, dependable and has extra leads for charging and balancing.

This is a really great beginner to intermediate package. The Gaui 550 is an easy build and the perfect machine to graduate to if you have been dabbling with 400 or 450 class machines. We have built and flown this package ourselves and we give it a strong Two DumbThumbs Up This machine builds out really light for its size which gives it a really big advantage over all others in its class - it autorotates really well. While all the other machines in the 500 class auto like toolboxes, this machine floats in and flares like a 600 class machine.
